Learning Objectives

The course of study for the second-level academic diploma of the School of Art Education deepens the training path of the three-year course, defining the skills in function of the creation of professional figures able to design and manage the exhibition event as a vector of dialogue in today’s complex society. The second-level training programme focuses on the public relational aspects of art: a key element of contemporaneity. To broaden and further define the learning objectives, the two-year course includes two distinct specialisations based on the different specificities:
– The specialisation of Museum and Exhibition Events Education aims to train communication specialists in the field of museums and exhibition events, who act as a link for the management and use of these events, in the aspects of external communication, in the aspects of educational reception and connection of the exhibition itinerary with the various services offered by the museum structure. Graduates of the School’s diploma course must: – possess adequate specialist theoretical and practical training, in terms of method and content, in the fields of communication, design, management of museum and exhibition systems and art education; – possess specific methodological, critical and technological tools for interpreting contemporary complexity; – possess competence in the use of multimedia communication tools.

Career prospects

Second-level graduates of the School will carry out activities in various fields, also in relation to the chosen path, as professionals able to operate independently and in synergy with sector professionals: with particular regard to the teaching of artistic communication (Museum and Exhibition Event Education programme). Working with public and private organisations, the academies will arrange the most suitable work placements and apprenticeships to help students achieve specific professional qualifications.

Entry requirements

To enrol in the second-level course, a first-level academic diploma or other degree is required, including one obtained abroad and recognised as suitable by the Academy in compliance with national and international agreements. The selection of candidates will be based on a preliminary examination of qualifications and educational credits or debits, followed by an interview to assess cultural background and aptitude.

Type of final assessment

The final exam to obtain the second-level academic diploma, after prior approval of the topic by the course coordinator, consists of the discussion of an educational or cultural project (according to the specialisation) on an interdisciplinary theme concerning the training activities.
