From the 2022/2023 academic year (38th cycle), the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome has launched two doctoral courses.

 

Doctorate in Cultural Heritage Studies in partnership with “Rome Tre” University

Additionally, under Italian Ministerial Decree 470/2024 of 21 February 2024, higher education institutions specialising in music and the performing arts (AFAM) have been granted the right to award doctoral degrees, whether single, multiple or joint, independently.

From the 2024/2025 academic year, the Doctorate in Visual Arts Cultures, Practices and Communications will be available, run in partnership with the Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
