L’IDEA is a publishing project in the field of the humanities, art history and drawing, inspired by the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci and Federico Zuccari – two focal points within the broader context of European intellectual history, around which researchers from various disciplines (including art history, the history of philosophy, linguistics & history and connoisseurship of design), different European universities and institutes, who come together to share common perspectives and interests.
The journal is published annually in open access digital format. Each issue consists of two parts: Texts, Sources, Lexicon and Designs. It offers the scientific community original articles of an international scope (in the main languages: English, French, Italian), subject to double-blind peer review.
IDEA is the result of research carried out by the Research Unit of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome as part of the PRIN 2022 project, IDEA | Zuccari Digital Corpus: Texts, Contexts, Sources and Lexicon, funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU) and the Ministry of University and Research, and co-funded by the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
