Biography

Visual artist, concept artist and graphic designer. Her works are multimedia projects developed through graphics, photography, video, multimedia installations and interactive performances, in which the viewer is engaged in a synaesthetic and psycho-emotional interaction. She is Head of the School of Artistic Design for Business and lectures in Graphic Design and Digital Applications for the Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, and previously did so at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania. Since 1998, she has been exhibiting her work in Italy and abroad. In 2015 and 2013, she gave lectures on the body and performance at the DAMS faculty in Bologna. She has created graphics, photo edits, videos and websites for Italian filmmakers, musicians and companies.

Computer Graphics
Teaching programme

The course focuses on the study and acquisition of techniques and tools for the production of visual and multimedia content. Particular focus will be placed on the design process required to create graphic elements, from the initial paper sketch to their digital and multimedia (motion graphics) realisation. The course will be structured to cover elements of digital painting, such as portraiture, and the creation of a character and a landscape, with subsequent implementation in Adobe After Effects to animate the scenes and the character.
Theoretical skills
Digital imaging, multimedia and multimedia communication, visual storytelling, colour methods, digital formats, the perspective grid, colour dynamics, light and shadow
Technical skills
Pencil drawing on paper, basic shapes and human proportions, settings and landscapes, photobashing, matte painting, colour and visual perception, animation and scalability.

Teaching programme

The course focuses on an in-depth exploration of design aspects, technical tools, and the methodology used in visual communication. During the lectures, various components of graphic design for business and cultural institutions will be addressed. Particular attention will be paid to the topic of usability, which is now expressed through UX and UI. The course will cover the investigation and research process relevant to the graphic-visual design of web applications for various devices.
Theoretical skills
History of graphic design and infographics, figures of speech, critical analysis of the brand and its use, analysis of visual identity, advertising communication for business and cultural heritage, digital and social marketing, design and usability, infographics, data visualisation, icon design
Technical skills
Units of measurement and ISO formats, communication codes, layout (order, rhythm, movement), ratios, proportions and composition, typefaces, colour (management, correction, purpose), file formats, standard icon formats for apps (Android/iPhone), digital file saving formats and the differences in their use, comprehensive design of a visual identity, portfolio development.
