Teaching programme

The Illustration course explores every stage of the creative process, covering all the technical and theoretical aspects aimed at enhancing and developing students’ expressive and stylistic skills.
From semiotic analysis to experimentation with techniques and their application in various artistic and professional contexts, the development of students’ personal style and language will be explored in depth, with the aim of achieving an original interpretative voice.

Students will be prepared to manage the relationship with the client at every stage: from the critical analysis of the text through to the development and realisation of the artistic proposal.
Students will be taught about the history of illustration, its relationship with other artistic forms of expression, and its independent and original language. The aim of the course – which will be delivered through professional exercises, exploring illustration in its various forms and applications (book covers, images for newspaper articles, cinema and theatre posters, etc.) – is to develop students’ professional, stylistic and artistic autonomy, enabling them to produce illustrations by strengthening their connection with their own sensibility towards the contemporary world.
