Learning Objectives
The course of study for the first-level academic diploma from the School of Artistic Design for Business – Fashion Culture and Technology Course aims to provide students with the core skills needed to design and create a model, accessory or costume, as well as basic skills in the fields of fashion studies, creative writing, marketing, fashion product design, and event organisation and management (exhibitions, fashion shows). The training activities aim to develop design skills and the practical use of both technological and traditional tools relating to fashion and costume in particular. Graduates of the School’s diploma course must: – possess adequate technical and operational training, methods and content relating to the fields of Fashion Design, Advertising Communication, Design, Set Design and Product Design; – possess methodological and critical tools suitable for acquiring skills in the most advanced expressive languages, techniques and technologies; – be able to use at least one EU language effectively, in addition to their mother tongue, in their specific field of expertise and for the exchange of general information; – possess adequate skills and tools for communication and information management, in particular with IT tools.
Career prospects
Graduates of the course will carry out professional activities in various public and private sectors of design, aimed at new and highly flexible career opportunities in various types of applications for institutions, museums, small and medium-sized enterprises and large industries, with a particular focus on advertising communication, the design and production of web platforms and the complex field of business communication. In consultation with public and private bodies, the academies will organise the most appropriate work placements and apprenticeships to help students achieve specific professional skills and will further define specific training programmes for each course of study.
Entry requirements
To be admitted to the Artistic Design for Business – Fashion Culture and Technology course, applicants must hold a secondary school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad and recognised as equivalent by the Academy in accordance with international agreements. On a transitional basis, students holding a four-year art school diploma or diploma from an art institute may also be admitted. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the documentation submitted, a written graphic test and an interview.
Type of final assessment
The final assessment for obtaining the first-level academic diploma consists of presenting a project with an appropriate amount of practical work and submitting a theoretical essay in written and graphic form under the guidance of a supervisor.
