As a result of the EU4ART project, we have established a joint platform for sharing specific technical knowledge and practical experience. Professional curricula will be created in the fields of sculpture, painting and graphics. Students will be aware that they will be able to move from one institution to another without difficulty. The student’s mobility pathway will be specific and relevant to their subjects of study. In the long term, our institutions will retain the ability to remain interoperable, including by continuing to apply for sub-programmes and taking part in cultural events. The aim is to establish a model that other universities can join, and to which other partners can contribute their resources and expertise. The curriculum will be made public; the template will be published on the Alliance\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
From the 30th month of the pilot project onwards, the Alliance will deliver comprehensive artistic training in the departments of painting, sculpture and graphic arts, based on a new curriculum authorised by the legislative bodies responsible for amending the laws in each country, in consultation with the universities, within the framework of institutional structures organised into multi-ethnic groups and conducted in English. With a view to sharing knowledge, there are also plans to exchange expertise in the field of postgraduate education.<\/p>\n
From the 25th month of the project, preparations will begin for the first international art exhibition, based on the students’ works, which will be presented in Dresden in the 34th month of the project. The preparation of the international exhibition will be carried out in the 30th month of the project in parallel with the organisation, technical preparation, production of the students’ works and their documentation, and the compilation of the publications (the exhibition catalogue and the publication documenting the project phases).<\/p>\n
In the 30th month of the project, the language skills of the members of the Alliance universities (students, administrative staff and teaching staff) will be significantly improved in terms of both basic language knowledge and technical language. Based on language training provided as part of the project, students will not only understand the English meaning of the concepts, but will also have an accurate knowledge of the different contexts that occur in the cultures of the various regions of the project.<\/p>\n
The Alliance’s joint homepage will be active; it will facilitate the flow of information relating to education, mobility, and information on regional cultural events by presenting a broad international exchange of reflections on them, and their integration into European culture. In this way, the system of local values in our universities\u2019 education, including the specific values of the workshops, will become visible and applicable within the context of the Alliance.<\/p>\n
The cultural role of the Alliance institutions will be enhanced. Based on more accurate local and international knowledge, we will be able to assess our role in local and European culture more precisely. We will be able to showcase our experiences and knowledge acquired during the project at a local and global level, and integrate them into the processes of European culture. We will be able to balance traditions with current events in a wider European culture and with local communities, thereby improving citizens’ knowledge in this regard.<\/p>\n
By the end of the project, we will have created the European Virtual University of the Arts, which will have established the conditions for the distribution of local culture, the diversification of European culture and the use of the project by society through the training provided in the departments of painting, sculpture and graphic arts. The long-term vision of our European University alliance will progress as described in our statement of intent presented below:<\/p>\n
It has been demonstrated that the European Virtual University of the Arts, operating on the basis of a curriculum developed and coordinated jointly during the pilot project, is sustainable in the long term and can serve as a model for other academies. In 2025, its operation will be guaranteed by the distribution of resources (know-how and infrastructure) that have been expanded, strengthened, developed and shared during the pilot project. This will provide the necessary network of laboratories and studios to support creative work, as well as the training of teaching staff.<\/p>\n
The shared homepage created during the pilot project will bring together the body of knowledge acquired and will work towards achieving the objectives of the European Virtual University of the Arts by 2025.<\/p>\n
Drawing on the network of laboratories and research centres, and the knowledge accumulated within the institutions of the European Virtual University of the Arts, support will be provided to institutions outside the Alliance through their involvement in knowledge exchange in 2025. We also have a responsibility towards the art faculties of science universities because, given their circumstances, they cannot easily get involved in innovative projects. In 2025, some of our upcoming graduates will be working and participating in local and global art markets, as well as contributing to the running of contemporary commercial galleries as professional artists who make a living from their creative work by producing independent artwork.<\/p>\n
Other graduates will not work as self-employed artists, but will have become professionals who contribute to society through the diverse problem-solving skills they have acquired during their arts studies, working in a wide range of sectors (education, the creative industries, social and cultural projects, etc.).<\/p>\n
The long-term social benefits of the project will be measurable by 2025. We are confident that our project will help to strengthen the sense of European identity, safeguard the diversity of Europe\u2019s cultural heritage and foster synergies between culture and education.<\/p>\n
