{"id":131549,"date":"2022-10-31T16:36:38","date_gmt":"2022-10-31T15:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/docenti\/prof-raffaele-gavarro\/"},"modified":"2022-10-31T16:36:38","modified_gmt":"2022-10-31T15:36:38","slug":"prof-raffaele-gavarro","status":"publish","type":"docenti","link":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/en\/docenti\/prof-raffaele-gavarro\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof. Raffaele Gavarro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>He graduated in Literature from La Sapienza University of Rome (1989) and completed a postgraduate course in Art History and Archaeology at the University of Siena (1995).<br \/>\nHe is an art historian, critic and curator.<br \/>\nHe has served as artistic director of art fairs in Rome (Art\u00f2 \u2013 Art Fair in Open City, 2009) and Venice (Venice Video Art Fair, 2006\u20132007), and as well as director of the International Videominuto Festival at the Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art in Prato (2008\u20132010).<br \/>\nHe has served as Chief Curator at the Isola di San Servolo in Venice (2005\u20132011), Independent Curator at the Museo Macro in Rome (2006) and Curator of the Maretti Prize (2011\u20132013).<br \/>\nHe curated the Italian Pavilion at the 11th Havana Biennial (2012).<br \/>\nSince the second half of the 1990s, he has curated numerous exhibitions in museums, public spaces and private galleries in Italy and across Europe, and is the author of an equal number of publications on Italian and international artists, as well as theoretical essays on current artistic research, including: Oltre l\u2019estetica, Meltemi Editore, 2007; L\u2019arte senza l\u2019arte \u2013 Mutamenti nella realt\u00e0 analogico-digitale, Maretti Editore, 2020; Avanti&#038;Indietro \u2013 16 conversazioni sull\u2019arte nella realt\u00e0 e nel tempo analogico-digitali, Maretti Editore, 2021; Il presente e la contemporaneit\u00e0 \u2013 L\u2019arte nel time loop analogico-digitale.<br \/>\nHe has taught History of Contemporary Art at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.<br \/>\nHe lectures on the History and Theory of New Media and on the History of Cinema and Video at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":118580,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-131549","docenti","type-docenti","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docenti\/131549","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/docenti"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/docenti"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/118580"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=131549"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
