Pistoia
Victoria Pistoia was born in London in 1966. She lives in Rome.
She graduated in English Language and Literature from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1991.
Since 2022, she has held the Chair of English at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.
Since 2013, she has been teaching English at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
Since 2009, she has been a member of the jury for the David di Donatello Awards.
Since 2003, she has been working as an entertainment agent at Sosia & Pistoia.
From 2003 to 2001, she worked as a writer and live presenter for 40 episodes of the programme ‘Notte Noir’ on Radio 1, and as a writer and live presenter for the programmes Voci d’Estate and Atlantis on Radio 2.
From 1998 to 2000, she worked at Ruvido Produzioni.
From 1992 to 1998, she worked for the production company LUX VIDE.
From 1991 to 1992, she worked as Fabrizio Frizzi’s secretary.
The English course – Lecturer Victoria Pistoia – is intended for students on the two-year Cinematography and Performing Arts course.
The English language classes will include:
- Grammar lessons,
- An introduction to the global English language used in the world of cinema and TV series;
- Watching films and documentaries in the original English language, followed by discussion on the topic of the documentary just watched.
One source of high-profile material is the British newspaper The Guardian, one of the most prestigious international publications, which produces documentaries on current affairs.
Many of these documentaries have received nominations for and won internationally renowned awards, such as the Oscars and the BAFTAs.
